Play4Autism
A program in Queens, NY dedicated to providing a safe and fun environment for children and adolescents with Autism (ages three and up) by providing fun activities on the weekends and weeknights. Weekly open sports club on Saturdays, where your child can play a variety of sports with other children with Autism and free arts and crafts and yoga sessions and other activities including laser bounce time, martial arts, and bowling. Sensory Friendly Movie Theaters
Both Regal Theaters and AMC Theaters offer sensory friendly viewing of movie at there theaters! For more information about the programs they offer see the links below.
Launch Trampoline Park
Located in Queens, Launch provides the perfect opportunity to try trampolines as therapy for Children with autism in a sensory-friendly environment. Limiting strobes and audio volume is only part of the story. A trained and friendly staff, paired with an exclusive VIP program that focuses on special needs clientele, helps ensure a time and space for the proper exploration of trampoline therapy and enjoyment. Extreme Kids & Crew
Located in Ridgewood and Brooklyn, Extreme Kids & Crew create fun and brave spaces that nurture a sense of belonging and community for neurodivergent youth. They offer tiered pricing structure for youth and family programs. Regardless of the tier chosen, all participants receive the same high-quality services and resources! There have classes especially tailored for children with special needs, which include music, dance, art, and social groups for teens.

New York Public Library

TDF Broadway Musicals & Plays
The Theater Development Fund (TDF) Presents Autism Friendly Broadway Musicals and Plays! TDF Autism Friendly Performances present Broadway musicals and plays in a friendly, supportive environment for children and adults who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder or other sensitivity issues and their families and friends. Adapted Museum Experiences
The Transit Museum
The Transit Museum is dedicated to honoring the strengths of people with disabilities and making its extensive collection accessible to all. They offer a wide rand of access programs to find out more that change seasonally. To find out more click here.
The Tenement Museum
The Tenement Museum offers private tours for people on the autism spectrum disorder either before the museum opens or after the museum closes. The tour can be organized by calling the museum two weeks in advance, for more information see the tour info here.
Age: 8 and up.
Cost: Admission ($20 for students, $25 for adults)
Duration: 1 hour
The American Museum of Natural History
The American Museum of Natural History has developed Discovery Squad, a unique tour program designed for families affected by autism spectrum disorders.
The Discovery Squad offers children and their families the opportunity to visit the museum an hour before it opens to participate in a guided tour. Younger children will get to explore the mammal and ocean animal dioramas. Older children will get to learn how the earth creates volcanoes and earthquakes.
Ages: 5-14
Cost: $15 for adults and $10 for children
Duration: 1 hours
The Whitney Museum of American Art
The Whitney Museum of American Art offers a special Fun program for kids with Autism, kids get the chance to have guided tours with a trained educator before the museum opens for the public. The Intrepid Museum
The Intrepid Museum offers Early Morning Openings for children with autism and their families before the Museum opens to the public! Families receive a sensory bag with interactive activities designed for the whole family, and explore the Museum without the crowds! Participants receive a social narrative ahead of time. MoMA
Everyone is welcome at MoMA! MoMA offers a variety of free programs and services to make MoMA accessible to everyone!. Visit Access Programs for more information about public programs and group tours.
For the best availability, book your ticket in advance online. Visitors with disabilities receive a discounted admission of $22 ($20 when booked online). Admission is free for a care partner accompanying a visitor with a disability. Members receive priority access. Visit moma.org/visit/tips for more information.
